DESCRIPTION

The American Diabetes Association is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Associate Director, Fundraising and Major Gifts. This critical position is responsible for working with our honorees to secure corporate gifts, plan our Father of Year Gala and cultivate relationships that will lead to individual gifts for the Association. 
Candidates must have a proven track record of planning and executing cost effective fundraising campaigns that have raised $500,000 or more in corporate sponsorship. Experience in recruitment and management of high-profile event Honorees is expected. 
The position will involve securing corporate sponsorship for the event and serving as primary coordinator and liaison for persons identified as Father of the Year honorees and committee members. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has strong sales skills, previous experience in building relationships, extensive experience working with high level corporate decision makers and major donors. The individual will be responsible for all logistics related to pre-events, the night of the dinner, as well as tracking income. 
The successful candidate will also have experience identifying, cultivating and soliciting major gift prospects. Exemplary attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities necessary. Strong organizational skills, analytical decision making, financial acumen, creativity and ability to think outside the box required. 
This exciting position will report to the Director of Development. 

REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor's degree  * 5 years of successful fundraising campaigns raising at least $500,000 with demonstrated year-over-year increases, preferably in the double-digits  * Establish and maintain long-term relationships between donors and the Medical Center to effectively move donors up the continuum of giving. * 5 years of demonstrated success in recruiting, managing and coaching volunteers  * Demonstrated ability to recruit and manage senior-level executives to serve as volunteers for leadership volunteer positions within the event  * Collaborate with Corporate and Foundation Relations managers to identify and cultivate individuals associated with corporations and foundations  * Demonstrated success in recruiting multiple sponsorships for $25,000 and more  * Experience with income and expense procedures and reporting  * Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills  * Familiarity with financial reports and analysis  * Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment  * Expert level proficiency with MS Office  * Access to a car is a must as local travel is required  * Ability to work occasional nights & weekends
